“Kardia Counseling Services
Health Coaching considers an individual’s overall health. In the initial session we talk with you and conduct a HeartPath assessment. We also request that you write a brief autobiographical narrative listing “lived-experiences” which were significant to you. This can be emailed or given to us at a face-to-face session. Once we receive your narrative we will conduct a thematic analysis and formulate a care plan together for healing. Our clients have reported “whole” healing with awareness gained and feelings of self-empowerment HeartPath interventions touch the inner heart and reveals a life path of meaning and purpose.
“You guys were the only counselors that ever truly touched my heart from a place of compassion. Because of the seed you planted my life took a new direction with right choices. I am happily married now with two children. I just wanted to thank you since it has been 10 years – I am 28 now.”

Cannabinoids and Cannabidiols (CBD) and THC-A
Cannabinoids (e.g., CBD & THC-A) are the chemical compounds secreted by cannabis flowers that provide relief to an array of symptoms including pain, nausea, anxiety, and inflammation. These work by imitating compounds our bodies naturally produce called endocannabinoids, which activate to maintain internal stability and health. Within a complex system, the endocannabinoids communicate between the cells, and when there is a deficiency or problem with our endocannabinoid system, unpleasant symptoms and physical complications can occur.
Decades of cannabis research has been conducted and peer-reviewed showing the therapeutic values of CBD & THC and are now available in Virginia when prescribed by a licensed primary care provider. Case studies and clinical evidence has shown CBD oil extracted from the cannabis plant has successfully treated children and adults in treatment of cancer in combination with chemotherapy.
What are the differences between Hemp-derived CBD and Cannabis-derived CBD?
Pros for Hemp-derived CBD: Hemp is legal federally in the U.S. and is widely available online and in grocery stores and drug stores. Hemp produces only a trace of THC for those who want to avoid THC altogether. Hemp produces a limited spectrum of therapeutic compounds compared to Cannabis-derived CBD. Hemp often absorbs soil contaminants in a process known as bioaccumulation and those contaminants can stick around in processed products. Purchase products that have been tested by a third party. Hemp products are also currently unregulated.
Pros for Cannabis-derived CBD: Cannabis produces a wider spectrum of therapeutic compounds (and in greater abundance) compared to hemp. Cannabis-derived CBD products are strictly regulated and tested per state laws.
Con for Cannabis-derived CBD is only available in states with legal cannabis, making it unavailable to consumers outside legal states.
