We are now several weeks, even months, into the COVID-19 reality. There are restrictions, social distancing,
misinformation, and fear-mongering from individuals that have an agenda. Some people have been
furloughed or laid off or may have had their work hours cut back. The schools have been out for an
extended Spring and Summer break; hopefully, the children are having fun and see it this way. What
memories will you have of 2020, and how will they serve you?

COVID-19 Reality: Ask Yourself These 3 Things

We should all ask ourselves some foundational questions as we navigate the new Heaven and Earth amidst COVID-19 reality.
Part of the navigation process is moving out of fear and lack.

  1. Have our perceptions of “what is reality” changed?
  2. Have our actions been moving in the direction of manifesting what is truly valuable in our
    life?
  3. Are we grateful for being a part of this transformational time?

These are just a few questions we should be asking ourselves as we navigate a rapidly changing world in the time of COVID-19. We can choose to be grateful and follow love by looking at opportunities to serve others. For many of
us, we have had “mandatory” time to slow down and “smell the roses.” We are becoming aware of how
far our ego, “prodigal son/daughter,” has wandered. Part of knowing ourselves is finding our true self-
created in love. By coming home, you can experience love in a more profound heart memory way.

“If I am going to have a true memory, there are a thousand
things that must first be forgotten. Memory is not fully itself
when it reaches only into the past. A memory that is not alive
to the present does not “remember” the here and now, does not
“remember” its true identity, is not memory at all. He who
remembers nothing but facts and past events, and is never
brought back into the present, is a victim of amnesia.”

—Thomas Merton

Mastering Spiritual Practices

We should all be mastering our spiritual practices to become walking compassion and light. We may
begin with heart-focused breathing by breathing in through your nose for five seconds and breathing
out through your nose for five seconds to engage the heart coherence, which moves into a wave pattern
of calmness. We can see our heartbeat and heart rate variability information on a computer screen by
utilizing HeartMath technology, which is an HRV biofeedback process.

Another good spiritual practice is keeping a journal of your dreams, visions, and spiritual experiences. You will naturally begin to illuminate the light energy we all carry within our inner spiritual heart. Dr. Carl Jung stated, “Man does
not strive for wholeness; he already has it; he is born with it.” Part of knowing ourselves involves the
understanding that we have never been separate from our divine source. Separation is a grand illusion
and is what keeps us in a state of fear and loneliness. Integrating self-care practices into our daily routines can also open our hearts and improve overall health.

The Collective Consciousness

The collective consciousness is experiencing high levels of energy, which is showing up in science and is
also spoken about by the “ancients.” We can either address this intensity of energy in love or absorb it
in our fear. Therefore, another good spiritual practice is called grounding. This is a technique that has been
proven in scientific research, and was also taught by the “indigenous people.” Mother Earth’s “heart-
beat,” referred to as the “Schumann Resonance Frequency,” is Earth’s electromagnetic energy that
aligns with our electromagnetic fields which emanate from our hearts. When we are examining ourselves in the midst of the COVID-19 reality, we must find ways to incorporate grounding into our whole health routines.

Whole Health Medicine

Grounding has proven to be functional medicine for whole health. The ancients understood how the energy vibration that Earth generates is in perfect harmony with nature and all living beings. To experience grounding, you can walk
barefoot outside, even if you just have a small “patch of grass or dirt.” There are also grounding pads
that you can order if you live in an area where getting outside is limited. You can take a short walk
naturally and in a meditational state of being quiet and still. Touch your “heart space” with one of your
hands; bring your attention to your heart center.

Shifting Focus

We have heard, “Perception is Everything” so we practice focusing on our breathing, methodically, with gratitude for every breath with our attention to this present moment “of this now” you “feel it” in your heart and find your heart memory.
Listen in silence for the heartbeat of intimacy that is beating within your inner heart and in the heart of
all creation. Historical reports reveal that the heart has always symbolized the center or the core of our
being. It is the synthesis not only of our affectivity but also our freedom and expanding consciousness.

The heart offers a connection where we accept or reject the mystery of ourselves, human existence, and
Spirit. The inner spiritual-energetic heart is our core sacred space and sanctuary for the Divine Spirit
merged with our “higher self.” It is here that we get in touch with the Truth of our being and open our
hearts to the presence of the “Source of everything,” expressing Agape, our very “breath life.”
